Testimonials

I enjoyed learning about robotic workforce and throwaway society. I found it very interesting to be able to learn so much. I also like being able to give my own thoughts and perspective to the different challenges that could happen in the future. I'm not sure that there is much to improve on it seems like a very good ECA but if anything, maybe just more time to prepare for a competition. If it was offered again, I would definitely join again I really enjoy learning about different topics that could cause potential challenges in the future. (Royal West Academy Student, Sec. 3)

I really enjoyed this ECA, because it let me have conversations about interesting topics with people that I like and respect. Getting to talk to people on that level has helped me get closer to them, and spending time with people as smart as they are an experience that I am grateful to have had. More group discussions like the one that we did on the last session before the Throw Away Society round would be nice. If this ECA were offered again, and I had the opportunity to participate in it, I would definitely choose to do so. (Royal West Academy Student, Sec. 1)

I thoroughly enjoyed this ECA because it was very competitive, enlightening, and fun. It taught me so much about the world, and I would never have asked for a better team! (Royal West Academy Student, Sec. 2)

I would definitely join this ECA if offered again. I really liked learning about these topics because they are topics I had very little knowledge or understanding of previously. I thought it was really fascinating. It would have been good to have started from the beginning of the school year to have more time to learn and practice and to learn about the first topic but asides from that I don’t have any complaints. (Royal West Academy Student, Sec. 3)

I enjoyed that we got to work on and explore different topics close to our real life, in the present and the future. These topics, especially throw-away culture, allowed me to reflect on what issues my actions might cause or avoid in the future. I also enjoyed the six-step problem-solving in groups. It was a new way for me to approach problems and I think it helped me think more creatively and with a wider view than before. I would join this ECA if it was offered again. (Royal West Academy Student, Sec. 3)

I enjoyed collaborating with friends and being able to do the whole process. One improvement to me would be to have more future scenes to do full practice competitions. I would definitely join if it was offered again. (Royal West Academy Student, Sec. 1)

It was a really enjoyable experience, and I would for sure do it again if offered. I learned many problem-solving skills that I know I can use later in my life. (Royal West Academy Student, Sec. 3)

Overall, this ECA is a great way to learn about various topics that are new to us but can be prominent in the future. It’s important to be prepared of what’s to come ahead and this program is a great way to do so. Plus, many of the topics covered here are not even covered at school. I would most definitely consider joining this program next year! (Royal West Academy Student, Sec. 1)

I really enjoyed the fact that I got to research topics I didn’t know much about, reading articles and watching documentaries on subjects that not many people paying attention to and then figuring out possible ways to attempt to solve these issues. I can’t think of much space for improvement, just maybe going over the topics themselves a little bit more in class. That way we might have more of a chance to discuss it with our peers more and see more perspectives a bit more. I would definitely join again though. (Royal West Academy Student, Sec. 3)

I really enjoyed this ECA because it was different from all the ones I've been in previously. I think it offers a very interesting and unique way of discussing the possibilities of the future of our world with the kids who will actually be living through these new events and educating and inspiring them to make a difference, as well as thinking of creative ways of solving problems that may arise later in our lives. I would love to join if this ECA was offered again. (Royal West Academy Student, Sec. 2)

I really enjoyed this program and learning new things. I would definitely join this program if it was offered again. It was amazing. (Royal West Academy Student, Sec. 1)

It was an incredible experience with so many intelligent people and I hope to do it again. (Royal West Academy Student, Sec. 2)

GIPS is an amazing program where we get to learn a lot of new things we don’t usually get to learn at school! It’s a great program that’s a lot of fun as well! (Royal West Academy Student, Sec. 1)
